Activities
The workshop is a full-day workshop consisting of two sections.
Morning section:
- Brief introduction of the participants (1 minute per participant).
- Introductions to existing open source recommender system software. The idea of this is to have some examples that can be used in the other workshop activities:
- Introduction to the Duine Framework by the workshop organizers.
- Introduction to other open source recommender system software by other participants. These participants will be invited to present their recommender system software based on the submissions of interes. The titles of these presentations will be made available here at a later date.
- Brainstorm session with the goal of discussing the direction open source recommender system software should take and what elements such software should encompass.
Afternoon section:
- Discussion of the results of the brainstorm session.
- Community building by making an overview of possible contributions to an open source recommender system project. This should result in a to-do list and setting up an (or extending an existing) open source project for the development of open source recommender system software.
