Mark van Setten is senior researcher at Novay. He has a PhD in computer science, a masters in business information technology and a bachelor in business economics. His PhD research was on hybrid recommender systems. His PhD thesis entitled "Supporting People In Finding Information: Hybrid Recommender Systems and Goal-Based Structuring" can be found here. The Duine Framework is based on his research. He has also worked on projects concerning video distribution, social tagging, personalized electronic TV program guides, distribution of multimedia medical content and has been involved in setting up the MyMedia project. |

Jaap Reitsma is research engineer at Novay. He has been one of the main engineers of The Duine Framework. He has been involved in the development of tools and prototypes in various domains, such as enterprise architecture and media interaction. He has extensive experience in applying mainstream server-side and client-side Java technologies. Prior to Telematica Institute he has worked for over 10 years as a software engineer in the embedded software technology, ranging from television sets and car navigation systems up to high-tech wafer steppers. Jaap Reitsma holds a masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente. |

Rogier Brussee is working as a researcher at Novay since 2000. He has been in involved in recommendation related projects in the culturtural heritage sector (Chip), together with the Rijksmuseum and the university of Eindhoven an the University of Amsterdam, and the Europena FP6 MyMedia project together with Microsoft EMIC, BT, BBC, Microgenesis, and the universities of Hildesheim and Eindhoven. He is currently working on statistical methods for tag based recommendation, and ontology based recommendation. |
